Mini Jet Boat Tours & Rentals

A mini jet boat has no propeller. It draws water through an intake in the hull and pushes it out the back, which means there is nothing hanging below the boat to hit. That is the whole product: this boat runs water that a conventional outboard simply cannot go into.

The stretch of the upper Mississippi between St. Cloud and Champlin is exactly that kind of water — shallow, braided, full of gravel bars and rock gardens that keep prop boats in the main channel. We run the parts nobody else gets to see.

Two ways to do this

Guided tour. You ride, we drive. One-hour and two-hour runs. This is the right choice if you have never been in a jet boat, if you have kids along, or if you just want to see the river without thinking about it.

Self-drive rental. You take the boat. Half day or full day. There is a real orientation before you leave the ramp, and there is a legal requirement attached — see below.

What it is actually like

Fast, loud and shallow. The boat sits nearly flat on the water and turns hard. We run past sandbars, under bridges, and through stretches of river that feel a great deal more remote than a forty-minute drive from the metro has any right to feel.

This is not a fishing trip. It is a river trip.
